Along with “Neethi Vedhi,” Wayanad Sthree Kshema Samithi (Wayanad Women’s Welfare Association) has carved a niche in the recent past. It was started in 1998.Since its beginning the women’s group has been working earnestly to claim their place in the society.

Women’s wing recognizes the power of women and their ability to face problems of life with equanimity. This group has been working to create awareness about gender equality, domestic violence and other problems facing women and together they search for ways to counteract the prejudices against women. They have pledged their dedicated committed service to all women without class, caste or religions distinction or discrimination. They are alert to address issues of importance that affect women and society at large. They work with other like minded NGO’s and try to generate a lasting effect on the society.

Wayanad Women’s Welfare Association is the district organization linked with all Kerala Women’s network, “Sthree Vedhi”. Sister Sheela SCN MSW LLB is the president of the Association. Ms. Kamalam serves as Secretary and Ms. Valsa as the treasurer. Mrs. Sulochana Ramakrishanan is an active Executive member and helps in the implementation of Programmes.
